Can’t Explain this Feeling

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I know I’ll feel this feeling
until the end of time
It’s not easy to keep believing
but they’re my team, always mine

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Only other fans understand the meaning
of games won, drawn or lost
How high the highs and so deep the lows
How we focus once the match kicks off

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 We can’t wait for the season to be over
We can’t wait for the season to begin
We can’t do anything but support them
It’s what we’re born to, through thick and thin

Notes

Norwich City are relegated but we’re not down. At our last home game against Watford, although 3-0 up we heard the score from Sunderland and knew there was no escape. Hearing 25,000 fans belting out “CITY ‘TIL I DIE” was pretty emotional, the atmosphere was cracking. For me, it was better than the play-off final at Wembley last year, which is weird because we won and got promoted that day. Maybe it was because we expected nothing but relegation, but instead got a real good performance from our team and a response from the crowd which surprised even us.

Must be that belonging, that feeling, our ground – our home. That sense of constancy which can be lacking in the ‘real’ world. As long as we have football at Carrow Road, we can cope with all the other stuff.

Looking forward to the frantic desperation of the Championship, roll on 6th August. At least we have the Euros in the meantime.
