Carlise Utd v Morecambe

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I know it’s not glamorous
There is one Vieria but no Henrys or Gerrards
The flicks and tricks
Will be functional mistimed
And as for step-overs
Let’s leave them for teenage wunderkids
Who promise much
But never quite catch up
With the hyperbole
Of their much vaunted time…
The Cumbrians and The Shrimps
May never climb the steps of the Nou Camp
Or race out into the deafening thunder
Of the Maracana
But for those who dare to dream
The blue skies of an old Northern town
Will find the same gods of fortune
Throwing the die and smiling down
As expectant hearts pulse with the enduring
Passion of Football.
