Clearly Not Good Enough

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I haven’t got a crystal ball
Though I suspect our keepers got a glass eye
Norwich City have champagne on ice
While they share out poachers pie

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 It’s the special summer clearance sale
When our manager clears his lines
Of defenders that never managed it
We wait to see who signs

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Henry, Tevez, Bellamy all moving on
Sadly not within our city walls
We got some players, shopping centre style
Once you seen one, you seen a Mall

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 They have undefinable qualitiies
Utility players, they can play anywhere
Just not very well, it has to be said
To twenty thousand fans, it’s clear

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 The manager keeps the faith
Wearing spectacles of pink coloured tint
The lads played well, deserved to win
But, glaringly, obviously, they didn’t!

Notes

Non-league Exeter City beat us 2-1 in our first pre season friendly.
Youssef Safri managed to break a window in one of the windows of the houses behind the ground and I guess that will appear as a ‘shot on goal’ in the local press column, famous for clutching at length deficient plastic tubes.
