Closed-Season Blues

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Stop the world I want to get off
I can’t stand the pressure any more
I feel like screaming ’til I start to cough
And banging my fists on the floor

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Stop the world I want to get down
I feel marooned and alienated
My face is wearing a permanent frown
And my appetite remains unsated

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Stop the world I want to be freed
I’m tired of feeling enslaved
I’m depressed by fat cats and corporate greed
This whole world, to me, seems depraved

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Stop the world and don’t shed a tear
I think I’m beginning to see reason
These feelings I get are for 2 months a year
And always in the closed-season

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Stop the world I’m rejoining the ride
I’ve changed my mind so cut me some slack
I’m no longer feeling the need to hide
Because the football season is back

Notes
