Come On In

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Come on in and destroy my thoughts
With those media sounds.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 The soft crackle as news filters through.
Eagerly awaiting the announcers words as
A crowd cheers in the background with
Feint hints of songs building higher into a chant.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 News from all across the country and
Throughout the hives in Europe
Where thousands have wrapped up and
Marched out into this cold winter night
To see the playful kicking of a ball
Affecting their emotions.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 As I lie here the radio says ‘Come on in’
To stop me from thinking about
Notions stamped with absurdity.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 It seeks and finds the lost ones
With time resting on the table
As this wating game continues
Into an unknown distance and
Pulls a semblance of life out of
The exhausted body that
Hesistates until it is comfortable.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 With the end
Comes the bragging rights and
The hiding of colours as
Rivals savour their moment.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 The voices of neutrality
Playing Devil’s Advocate
Turn off and wait for the next call of
‘Come on in’.
