Come The Hour, Cometh The Man.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Austerity? Do me a favour
“FA Cup” on the wane? Do be brief
As 5000 visitors turn up to savour
The Arsenal do battle with Leeds.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 A cold Monday night in North London
Nearly 60.000 fans line the streets
To witness return of the prodigal son
Va Va Voom Terry Henry.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Wireless suggested The Arsenal had laboured
To a United defence, of two banks
When the moment arrived, all that’s fish n chip paper
Come the hour, cometh the man.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Flashbacks to a wonderful era
The season without a game lost
Bergkamp, Adams, Dixon, Viera,
Highbury, North Bank, The Clock.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Gooner’s fans stood up ecstatic
Real woes of their world were forgot
In that moment they floated on air, it was magic
”FA Cup” waning? It’s not!

Notes

A wonderful story to add even more credence, to the history of the FA Cup, as if it needed it. Still the greatest domestic Cup competition in The World by a mile.

Carefree…….we’re off to Battersea.

Go well and be lucky.

Peace.

Kev.
