I watched Saturday’s F.A.Cup Final indoors on I T V only because,
I couldn’t get a ticket for the match. Never again, commentators Jim Beglin and Clive Tyldesley sounded like they were speaking from a submarine underwater. Give them a soundproof box please!
Half of the pitch was barely visible, due to a shadow blocking it out, which took the techno people most of the game to adjust so we could finally (sic) see it properly.
Some ex-pro was asked for his point of view on proceedings so far during the half time interval. Which by the time I went out of the living room, made the half time tea and came back again, he hadn’t managed to fathom an answer for. So it was a good job Joe Royle and Andy (man who pulls many faces) Townsend were next to him to keep the chat going or we’d have still been there now waiting for a reply from said ex-pro and missed the second half altogether.
Florent Malouda’s shot was clearly in, so far in, in fact that it hit a train passing through Wembley Park underground station and bounced back in to Tim Howards arms. Time to raise the age old question of the goal- line technology again perhaps?
All of the above in front of a World wide televised audience of millions for one of the biggest occasions on the sporting calendar as the T V company proudly told us prior to the game starting.
Embarrasing or what?
Was the game a sell out? I could have sworn there were blocks of empty seats. A mate who went to the game told me that Everton fans were sitting in the Chelsea end. I take that to mean some Chelsea fans had flogged their seats at great profit to some tout who’s sold them on again to whoever, and not gone to the match anyway???
Peace
Kev.
