Corner Flag, oh Corner Flag,
Please do not let your spirits sag,
Though players bend you out the way
To try and keep the ball in play.

Corner flag, thy fate is sealed
In that far corner of the field,
Sent to physically define
The full extent of that goal line.

Corner flag, what is thy goal?
You’re more than just a pretty pole.
What dost thou aspire to most?
To be a crossbar or a post?

Corner flag, thy slender shape
Shows off thy fine three-pointed drape.
I hope I never get to snag
My shorts on thee, oh Corner Flag.
