Crossing the line

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 We needed to keep our hopes alive,
but we were felled by a theatrical dive.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 In our defence we didn’t really have one,
little wonder the Russians won.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Yes, Rooney floored an opponent,
but did you see how far he went?

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 He wasn’t technically fouled in the area,
another blunder – this gets scarier.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 A stunning dive accross the line…
no, not Robinson, the Russian’s crime.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Robinson hardly saved the day,
though he went (slowly) the right way.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 As for the awful second goal,
after a weak parry, we’re in a hole.

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 McClaren said “we tried our best”
but that’s an insult to the English crest.

Notes

there is a fine line between playing on a legitimate foul challenge for a penalty and out and out cheating. it is a fine white line.
