Notes

As this poem suggests, fathers who never played the beautiful game to any standard, think that they can, by wearing a track suit and a brand new pair of expensive trainers, become Rinus Michels overnight much to the embarrasment of their kids.

You’ve all seen them on Sat/Sun mornings trying hard to look like retired pro’s on a day off!

One trainer of a kids team in the North of England got the parents of the whole team to sign a contract that if they interfered with his instuctions they were banned from the touchline for the whole season! They all, to a man and a woman signed it.

Where I live the local paper reported a punch up between the two rival sets of parents(mums and dads!) so bad that the kids cup tie had to be re-played behind closed doors at a local semi-pro ground whilst all the parents sat outside in the car park!!! Makes yer think doesn’t it???

peace.

kev.
