Darkness Into Light

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Hope continues to descend
Despair it is my only friend
Doom does nothing but impend
Can I now, overextend?
No more vigour left to spend
All my worries doth distend
Pain I feel, can’t comprehend
Will it cease? My spirit mend?
Malaise be gone, you are no friend
Will battle til the bitter end

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 A chink of light will then appear
A small footstep can lift the haze
You hear a story, quite severe
Safe and healthy, give some praise
Cop on issued, have no fear
Trials and tears are just a phase
They pull you from the cold frontier
And rid you of that dismal daze
Clarity victorious, must persevere
Ice cream smiles and happy days

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Players, managers, all involved
Have their very own priorities
They are human just like you
And in the same way as you
Have the exact same allegiances
Loyalty is the amateurs preserve
That we valued many moons ago
And may see quite soon again but
For now value those most important
They are what forms you.

Notes

“…Though I fall I will rise again! When I sit in darkness, the Lord himself will be my Light…God will bring me out of my darkness into the light, and I will see his goodness” (Micah 7:8, 9)
