David Speedie Hero & Villain

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 David Speedie is my number one villain
He was a firebrand, a real hothead
Playing today he wouldn’t last long
For all the cards of yellow and red.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Playing with heart firmly on his sleeve
And with lots of passion in his soul
He would give you one hundred per cent
And always had an eye on a goal.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 He was quite small in stature
But scored lots of goals with his head
The Sky Blue Fans loved him at Coventry
And I bet he was a hero to the Chelsea Shed.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 His fiery character and temperament
Earned him a “loose cannon” reputation
But he still performed at the highest level
And won caps playing for the scottish nation.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 To bring Speedie to Coventry City F.C.
They paid Chelsea £750,000 pounds
It was definetely money well spent
“Speedo” came the chant at all the grounds

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 So yes he was mister volatile
And he ran around on a short fuse
But to me he is a true legend
A villain and hero for the Sky Blues !

Notes

What can you say about Speedie ? He was a referees nightmare ! But I thought he was great, a saint and sinner all in one game ! As I said, he wouldn’t be on the pitch long today, in fact, he would get sent off in the warm up !
