Day 25 : Rest Day – New Order?

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Out with the old, in with the new
That at least, seems to be the populist view
But in fact, the final two contestants, could be
Those old foes, Brazil versus Germany
Despite the presence of one co-host
Those two countries have won the most
FIFA World Cup finals
So all the talk, whether it be in the urinals
Saloons, bars, hotels, inns, pubs
Sports clubs, gyms, solariums, hot-tubs
At work or at play

For instance, presentations to heads of state, or the UN, to Annan, Kofi

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Fairytale, 2002 style

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Do fairytales really come true?
Can South Korea actually win through …
To the 2002 World Cup Final?
Will they be submitting to vinyl
The anthem ‘Be The Reds’, as in their logo
Adorning their t-shirts, as they happily pogo
Celebrating all their successes thus far?
Unfortunately, it would be annoyingly typical of Germany, to mar
A happy ending

Notes

Tomorrow :
Germany v South Korea, in the first semi-final

Guess which team everybody would love to see win?
