Days Like This (we can do without)

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Leading with the elbow –
Not a pretty sight
And all too indicative
Of a mucky modern blight

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 And the fact that it was Rooney
Who landed the blow
Peeves all the purists
And fills us with woe

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 For he knows, and we know
That he is a role model, like it or not
And it’s from the very top
That we have to quell the rot

Notes

The title?
My favourite Elbow song 😉

Poem in reference to last weekend’s incident where Wayne Rooney elbowed James McCarthy of Wigan – and got away with it.

Not only on the pitch – but also the FA did not prosecute post-match.
Fergie defended the referee’s decision.

But then showed his true hypocritical self by going apoplectic in midweek when David Luiz got away with body checking Rooney & Hernandez in Utd’s 2-1 defeat at Stamford Bridge.
