Derby Twice

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 What a pity
That Derby isn’t like Manchester –
Or is that actually a blessing?

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Forgive me
For my woeful wanderings
And my metaphorical messing

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 But I was alluding
To a twin presence
A la City and United

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 So what if County
Had a counterpart
And to each, they were annually invited?

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 And what if
One were called Donkey?
Or is that just way too asinine?

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Pathetic punditry
From a woebegone wit
And poetic philistine?

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Although what’s in a name?
For many’s the game
(need an accent here …) where an abundance of wayward passes
Have had us all braying like asses!

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 (or maybe not!)

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 🙂
