Desparate For A Game.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Give us a game with the stiffs boss
I’ll play anywhere, give us game
I could go in goal or a pivotal role
If you’ll put my name in the frame.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 I turn up each week to do training
Then Saturday you’ll leave me out
I’ll do cross country runs in the rain
In the hope that me fitness
As God is me witness
Will at least put me in with a shout.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 I’ll give up the boozing and birding
And the late nights spent out on the lash
If you could just put a word in
Me shell like, I’m starting in Saturdays match!

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Straight up, I won’t let you down boss
I’ll get you two goals maybe three
What do you mean the new strikers eight
So at nine and a half there’s no place
For a well past it forward like me?

Notes

I dunno where the gist of this one came from, but as kids today seem to be getting older in their actions, and in the way that they talk, far too grown up before their time. It seems to this old geezer at least, to be quite relevant.
