Did It Happen? Maybe. It Could Have!

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Sat up in the gods with the faithfull
We watched the stretcher brought on to the field
Never seen anything so surreal to this day
On what I’m about to reveal.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Chelsea were playing The Hammers
When Dave Speedie and Billy boy Bonds
Decided that they’d have a clash of the titans
So went at in Hammer(sic) and tong.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Our stadium shook with the impact
The Rickter scale registered ten
Then these two mountains of men got up and went
Back to their business again.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Punters resumed normal breathing
Equilibrum returned to the pitch
Speedie we knew was a miner pre this
With Bonds from the East End no ciss.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 A drawn game faded into obscurity
Like old newsprint one gets with yer chips
As they rushed the crushed ball off to casualty
A tear in it’s bladder, and flatly laid out on the pitch!

Notes

What a clash this was, we thought we heard something burst, was it a lung or the ball? We’ll never know.

The clash happened, I was there and witnessed it, and as for the rest of it, you’ll just have to use yer imagination!
