Different Stories.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 On the wireless
In the West of Ireland
We were tireless
And had Burnley frightened.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Drogba scored
We were up one-nil
Set for more
We were poised to thrill.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 All seemed well
Till TV that night
Told a Burnley tale
In a different light.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Before we scored
It could have been 0-2
And them Turf Moor boys
Might have stuffed us Blues!

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 And the Burnley fan
Who forgot his teeth
Was one angry man
At those chances missed.

Notes

In the West of Ireland, listening to the wireless on Saturdays early kick off, where Didier Drogba actually didn’t score, you’d have thought as a neutral that Burnley hadn’t bothered to turn up, the way it was being commentated, but on the TV highlights later that night, you realized that Burnley could well have been 2-0 up, before we scored, on another day and it wasn’t even mentioned on the wireless.

Weird or what?

That telly shot of the Burnley fan doing his nut as a sitter was missed, minus his teeth was priceless. We’ve all been there teeth in of course!

Peace.

Kev.
