Direct Debit

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Thought I’d show them my loyalty
So took up the early bird offer
Season ticket can be paid in instalments
By monthly direct debit.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 So they reward us by flogging Scott Dann
He “was” our captain and best defender
To our West Midland neighbours Brum
“But we’re not a selling club anymore.”

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 So us fans are anxious and all on edge now
Who’s next out of the Ricoh revolving door?
“We need to sell to buy,” the suits say
“But we’re not a selling club anymore.”

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 So that has got me thinking
Couldn’t we buy a top star
By also paying by direct debit
Pay in instalments every month?

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 So many clubs are skint these days (and us fans)
It may be the only way out
But, the bank says you missed a payment
So your new star has to go back !

Notes

A bit sarcastic, tongue in cheek, whatever, but we’ve been known as a selling club for years, then the new chairman comes in and states, that those days are now over for Coventry City. Well, we’re all anxiously waiting now to see what happens in the next few months. Then they wonder why attendances keep dropping down !
