Dissention

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Arguing against a ref’s decision
Is normally quite profitable, I find.
He’ll often re-assess his first position,
And nine times out of ten, he’ll change his mind.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 If a dodgy penno is awarded,
When the striker dived as plain as day,
Don’t dismiss the episode as sordid.
Don’t just shrug and glumly walk away.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Referees encourage strong dissention,
Debating is their favourite occupation,
They never will discourage the attention,
And think that it improves the situation.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 They love it when you challenge their authority,
And appreciate the oral intercourse,
They’d never dream of pulling seniority,
And will measure up your arguments, of course.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 So sharpen up your talents at debating,
For when you argue with a referee,
The men in black are standing out there, waiting
For some measured, witty repartee.
