3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Her sponsored clad idol
Spins around like a driedel
And puts down his X box console.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 This must be important
For club captain to call him
At home, cos they’re not really cool.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Taking reciever off Barbie
Who’s decked out in Armani
He has a pose at mirrored tiles in the hall.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 “It’s yer skipper here sunbeam
Not too sure what this all means
But the gaffer just fell on his sword.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 I know thats it’s late
But a newspaper mate
Just texted and gave me the word

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 In the first morning papers
He berates us and slates us
Says it’s teams fault he’s off down the dole

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 What an ungrateful fella
Calling us rich idols yella
I’m thinking of action in court

And us winning div two

I’d better go
If some hack calls, let on you don’t know

Say he’s best boss you’ve had yet
And how sad you are, to see him go”

14 Leave a comment on verse 14 0 The sponsored clad idol
Preens his hair in mirrored hall tiles
Shrugs his shoulders, then puts down the phone!

Notes

What goes through their minds and how do they ( the players) really feel when the team boss gets the sack?

Seems to be the time of the year for it and a few more heads are gonna get the dreaded vote of confidence before they roll in the next few weeks.

Yet the players despite what they come out and say on the box and in the papers seem to get off scot free and carry on as if nothing what so ever has happened!

Even though they’ve, despite the clever media manipulation, had a big hand and a say in a bloke losing his job.

The poem’s written from a London point of view as our club has just parted company (I love that term) with it’s manager, but the drift of the poem could be any team, anywhere.

peace

kev.
