Donkeys in a Stable

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 (Bolton v Portsmouth 27/11/04)

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 It’s that time of year,
When people harbour religious thoughts
Just for a few weeks.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 “We do it for the kids really”
Christmas cards and school nativity plays
All have pictures of donkeys in them.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 A short drive up the M61
Lies a magnificent, expensive stadium,
Which sometimes doubles as a stable.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Riding quite high in the league,
And at home to a rudderless ship,
There erupts a woeful performance.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 A home banker
Becomes a banana skin
Which could herald the start of a slide.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Speak to the Manager:
Don’t forget to buy the carrots,
Just in case the donkeys return.

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 I don’t mean to be harsh,
And I do try to be fair,
But sometimes it’s hard being a fan.

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 Especially at The Reebok
When the downs
Currently outweigh the ups.

10 Leave a comment on verse 10 0 You know you can do it,
You’ve proved you can do it.
SO ****** WELL DO IT!
