Don’t Hound Basil

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 If Curbishley is feeling it
and Stuart Pearce is too
imagine what the pressure
on a terrier can do
If Martin O is stressing out
about the job in hand
if Allardyce has both hands tied
who then to lead our land?

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 imagine how us poets feel
distracted just the same
whilst still concerned with titles
and relegation games
so many half done poems
on bits of paper wait
and now this job to wind us up
how can we concentrate?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 when even Basil Stroud’s top dog
becomes confused inside
he’s been there done it all before
it’s so hard to decide

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 to be an icon for a site
a role model and know it
for every man with writer’s block
for every female poet
to be the one they seek and chase
at every football ground
the one they hunt barbarically
like some banned local hound

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 tis tough tis tough decison time
we beg you leave us be
but hope that Basil chooses right
one day eventually

Notes

early paws…(ouch)
on giving managers a break for a while..let them and basil get on with their jobs..
