Double-Double

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Before the Treble, there were
Two Doubles, earned in sweat and blood,
Etched out of the soil of England.
We shall sing always of the glory of those teams,
‘94 and ‘96, Keane & Cantona, Bruce and Pallister,
and Schmeichel like a lighthouse at the back.
The crowning moment? From so many, I would choose
The Cantona goal v Liverpool in the last few minutes
As perfect a goal as you could wish to see.
Double-Double followed by the Treble:
Sir Alex in his heyday and his mastery.
