Notes

I wrote the following poem about my experiences as a girl growing up in the 60s, kicking footballs down the park with my brother and our mates.

That was in the days when Mum’s would open the backdoor and say: ‘Go on. Off you go outside and play.’ And we’d be off down the park, in the woods, playing in the streets, back again in time for tea, then out to play until bedtime.
