El-Hadji Diouf Flops in the Box

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Please stop saying
“won a dubious penalty” and
“he was clever”
When a so-called professional
Footballer, million quid man
Falls, dives, trips himself
When no contact was made
By, in this case, Brad Friedel
As the Diouf kicks himself
In the back of his leg and
Gracefully spreads his arms
And floats to the ground
Hits the turf with the impact of
A feather falling from a bird
And rolls around in pretend
Agony

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Rooney did it to Arsenal too
No contact made
Took a dive for the team
The team that is so important
Those men are willing to lie
Cheat and steal for
Three points

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Please don’t condone and
Even praise this behaviour

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 I have a 12-year-old soccer
Playing daughter
Who knows right from wrong
She knows what cheating is
She knows what lying is
She would never do this to
Others, those she respects as
Friends and fellow lovers of
The Beautiful Game

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 Don’t praise a cheater and say
“It’s now part and parcel of the
Game today”
It doesn’t have to be

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 We try to raise our children
And instil values in them
Hoping they’ll grow up and be
Honourable citizens
Good soccer players and
Students of the game

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 Please
Take away the cleverness of
Dishonesty

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 Character counts

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 But not in
The Premiership

Notes

The cheating is getting ridiculous! Kolo Toure is charged with elbowing Shearer on video evidence (fair enough!) but someone who dives in the box and wins the game is not considered a cheater? Its time to clean the game up!
