Emotional rollercoaster

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 I woke up this morning before the jangling alarm
Good sleep, winning dreams, felt as fresh as a daisy
Sun streaming in through the curtains
So yeah, I felt good

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Did I mention the sun had his hat on?
With a full beaming smile, accentuated by the prism
Of the early morning mist, creating a complementary upside down rainbow
So a picture postcard dawn, and yeah, I felt good

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 A soon-to-be Easter bunny hopping safely across the road
A relatively traffic free journey in
With Royseven and Ian Dury’s Rhythm Stick revvin’ up the radio
Followed by James Brown… ‘I Feel Good!’

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 And half way down the motorway, the countersight
Of a full moon peeping through the shimmering haze
Casting an ethereal glow
Setting up the most glorious of days

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 But then it all came flooding back…
Midweek madness, outright sadness
Champions League progress stemmed
Like a machete’d fern

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 Trying to look on the bright side
We didn’t win, ok we didn’t draw either, yet…
There’s always the second leg?
But what with the way we played – where’s the hope?

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 An ageing team, a multi-million flop
Not-a-one prepared, to run til they drop
The only real fight, in the mighty JT
But where’s our record-buster, on a goal-scoring spree?

8 Leave a comment on verse 8 0 Football, yet again
You’ve kicked me where it hurts
Like a Vinny Grab
And I’m not talking shirts!

9 Leave a comment on verse 9 0 So the whole week lies in ruination?
Well of course, this being a Friday
And being a creature of habit
I had to look at the fixtures …

10 Leave a comment on verse 10 0 Saturday?
Home?
3pm?
Versus?
Whipping boys?
Yes!
Wigan!

11 Leave a comment on verse 11 0 Get in!

Notes

My favourite song of the year so far …

RoySeven : We Should Be Lovers
