End of the Summer

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 It’s a nice spell of weather we’re having,
The nights are quite humid and mild.
The heat of the day
Brings the bees out to play,
As they did when I was a wee child.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 This warm spell will not last forever,
It will soon be a thing of the past.
But how can I know
That this drought will soon go,
That this spell of hot weather won’t last?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Every time that we’ve travelled to Longford,
The blue skies have fearfully fled.
The rain gods invoked,
Sure, we always get soaked,
And spend most of the next week in bed.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 We’re playing in Longford next Saturday,
My umbrella is by the front door.
Michael Fish’s advice
Will not make me think twice,
But at least we will know what’s in store.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 It’s a nice spell of weather we’re having,
It’s a shame it is soon to be gone.
But the Great Longford Rule
Is invariably cruel,
And we’re bound to get piddled upon.
