England-Italia

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 What air shall I breathe?
No choice about that – air Genoese.
But what shall I speak – Italian or English?
Native or learned tongue? Confusing business.
Reading material – Shakespeare or Dante?
Fancy a tipple – bitter or Chianti?
Then there’s the food – what shall I eat?
Gnocchi al pesto or good old roast beef?
Who shall I cheer on when glued to the telly?
Roy Hodgson’s brave Boys or Prando’s Fratelli?
England-Italia, for you ninety mins.
For me this is one match that just never ends.
