So, breaking every rule, I splurged,
Astounded that I did.

Who would I get? Perhaps the Dutch?
Or Portugal or Spain?
Would it be asking much too much
To draw out France again?

I opened up my envelope
And gave an inward hiss.
Goodbye, money! Goodbye hope!
I got the bleedin’ Swiss.

Switzerland is grand.
It could have been, oh, so much worse,
Like, maybe, En-ger-land.)
