Euro 2012 XVII : the Final

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Chelsea win Euro 2012
yes, our world domination plan is coming along nicely
the Barca / Real Madrid lads do the grunt work
but it’s Torres and Mata who finish so precisely!

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 ~ ~ # ~ ~

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 There’s gold, hanging from their necks
Signifying victory, a modern day laurel, for the hardy
But does it matter, to the unused, the unselected,
The benchwarmers, or those brought to the fray a little tardy?

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Does it Mata, that just a fraction of pitch time
Or constant dwelling in the dugout, contributed little or nowt?
Will they wallow in isolation
Or willingly join in the celebrations, joyfully cheer and shout?

Spain 4 – 0 Italy

Silva, Jordi Alba, Torres, Mata.

Italy no match for a rampant Spain.
Italy also had the unfortunate circumstance of Thiaga Motta, their third and final sub, having to come off injured within five minutes of getting onto the pitch. They were already two down and well beaten at that stage.

I always wonder, just how forlorn the unused squad members might be?

Lukaku was very forthright that he felt no joy in Chelsea wining the Champions League competition, as he played no part in it.
