Euro 2016 III

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Bike or run?
My inner voice
says easy choice
as to the more fun!

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 And in the ‘licious sun
the 2 wheels option
pushes my pedals;
there are no medals, for torture, but
the haranguing of a heinous hamstring
and the clamour of knackered knees
are begging me please
next time to choose 2 wheels
to silence the sinewy squeals!
Howandever
I press hard on the tarmac
all wobbly and knobbly
and as sweaty as a Yeti (in Ibiza!);
and the purpose of this
quicker torment of the ticker?
It’s shorter on the clock
to jog around the block
and return in time
for France v Albania
and though I am far removed
from the French media mania
I can relax
and watch centre-backs
dominate.

Well, was it worth all the hurt?
Even at mine own l’escargot pace
I reckon I could out-race, Evra
Patrice –
slower than Pat Rice
and though I’ll try to be nice
I think Deschamps should guillotine
the weak link in his team.
