why have one team – when you can have two?
why build stadia reaching to the heavens
if every game you’re runnin’ round at sixes and sevens

if you don’t really wanna be the best one in the land
suddenly the penny drops after all these years
money is the only thing to wipe away the tears

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 listen to the people from Liverpool to Crewe
if they all had the money too I wonder what they’d do?
listen to the sceptics who love to criticize
money talks- nostalgia walks- when will we get wise?

it’s like some football poet who becomes a superstar
Shakespeare got it sorted – Willie got it sussed
we are merely players – but money is a must

the most despised and hated team -in the whole country
lion keeps purring – what else can you say
we’ve been waiting fifty years- now it’s come our way

beat Milan away in style then go to Hull and lose
we could score some sixty goals but let in eighty two
training down the Kings Road and then a pub or two

running from away grounds on dodgy cup- tie nights
notorious behaviour on and off the pitch
dreaming we – would one day be – right up there with the rich

London’s best achievers- were never the South West
lion keeps purring – only just half way
confidence is oozing but will we go astray?

when the snow lies on the ground and the nights grow long
but hopes keep soaring – you know what they say
sooner or later now – this lion will have his day

Chelski be warned….stay focused…Quadruples?.please! How many times have we heard this before Xmas…I seem to remember Arsene Wenger in September or whenever saying they could go the whole season unbeaten again..watch it Blues ! I started watching you just after you won the league in 54/55(when i was 7) so i missed out..so please..let’s just win something..anything..I’d be happy with winning a pen that lit up in a raffle after so long!
