Extinction

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Yo-yoing up and down
Between divisions one and two,
No winning crown
For fans that are few.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Withheld money
Cold soggy pies,
Now I’m not being funny
Can you hear the cries?

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Up to our eye balls in debt
We are a sinking ship,
The club the others forget
For we have been left to rip.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Extinction enters my mind
Surely it cannot be,
Money and lots of it we must find
Can’t you all see?

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 We can come up with a reason
And try to find some luck,
Before the end of the season
When we’ll be handed the book.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 And as the final day draws near
And the season comes to a close,
I face my worst fear
Head on with my woes.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 The floodlights die
Tears of sadness we cry,
I turn and sigh
With tears in my eyes for a final goodbye!

Notes

I really hope the likes of Notts County and Oldham survive extinction! :o(
