Faith

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Playing in a position
You’ve now grown to fear,
Because of past humiliation
To play in it again you couldn’t bear.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Playing in the goals
Was my feared position.
Until that fateful night where
We were without our keeper.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 So I found myself stood in the goalmouth
Trembling without control.
But a sudden thought of my keeper
Motivated me to try, just try.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 9-1 was the final score
The predicted had been 20,
Only 3 let in in the second half
I had to be pleased with that result.

Notes

When you’ve got no choice but to play in a position you’ve grown to fear because you’re so convinced you suck at it (which I do) it can be really nerve-wracking.

But to be fair, I was really pleased with myself tonight, because our outfield had a few issues too. I take full responsibility for our loss though, because I was really bad. Considering both our best players weren’t playing, I wouldn’t try as much usually, but I did, just for them. Especially our keeper – hope she gets better soon.
