Fame.

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Fame is but a fleeting glance,
look around and it is gone.
One day you may be a star,
but soon you are once upon.
They build you up like a god,
to them you can do no wrong.
When a star is on the wain,
they soon sing a different song.
Yesterdays news you become
their idol you are no more.
The hangers on disappear,
you find an ever closing door.
They all seem to pass you by,
when your name they used to call.
Alas the higher you may climb,
the further it is to fall.
So count true friends on one hand,
their shoulder is always there.
Rich or poor they’ll see you through,
never leave you in despair.
Fame is but a fleeting glance,
look around and it is gone.
Those friends will always be there,
The ones you can depend on.
