Fed up of being patriotic

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Come on now their playing our anthem
you’re English so get behind the team
but I’m sorry no matter how hard I try
their performances make me want to scream.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 You know they’ll never win a competition
even if they get Harry to be the boss
in fact I’ve lost interest in the Three Lions
and to be honest I couldn’t give a toss.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 I’ve said it before and I’ll do so again
my club will always come first for me
anyway England have been overrated for years
and you can’t say that about Coventry City.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 This summer you’ll get all the usual hype
and for a while we will get taken in
only to lose out again in the Quarter Finals
to our rivals whose capital is Berlin.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 So if I was Harry I wouldn’t bother
stay where you are at White Hart Lane
as the Three Lions are really just Pussycats
who’d only bring you lots of misery and pain !

Notes

I know the Holland game was only a friendly but England looked very average for long periods of the game and I thought our football was too predictable and to be honest boring.
As an Englishman I want us to be the worlds number one side but I can’t see that happening which is frustrating hence my poem !
