1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Can’t say that I learned much from this game,
save that if you need an extra frame,
football gods will frown
on you the second time around
if spot kicks were a stop along the route you came.*

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 But surely it’s the Final we all needed:
Goliath and a side hardly conceded.
Offense we’ve been craving;
empty throne that we’ve been saving,
Ask who saw it coming. Messi will say he did.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 So, all you punters sitting in your bars,
on patios, or in your flag-draped cars,
get outside and look up,
find the winner of this World Cup,
for that answer must be written in the stars.
