Fitness First

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Many players claim to be fit,
but then they merely flit
around the park, their
effect a fleeting one,
their influence on the
outcome rather flat.
Others reckon they are match fit
when they run around the pitch
‘bravely’chasing lost causes
and hopeful balls.
But I must give credit
(and lots of it!)
to the players at STFC:
they are REALLY fit;
running, harrying and
closing down the space
for the entire 90 minutes.
One suspects Paolo might
have something to do with it
as he hovers over his lawn
mower, week end hair dryer
treatment forgotten,
a steely glint in his eye
as he lauds the players for
their fitness and work ethic.

Notes

Swindon’s 3-0 win against Crawley (9-0 on aggregate) came largely as a result of the players fantastic energy and work ethic. Paolo I salute you, though not in any kind of dodgy way!
