from the top of the scaffolding end
struck a middle-aged lady
in the second row
on the side of her face

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 next minute
a man set fire to his newspaper
and wafted it around

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 next minute
another man did the same

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 next minute
a semi-drunk dribbled his abuse
in my general direction

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 next minute
a pair of gendarmes
and a fireman approached
and stood
watching.

6 Leave a comment on verse 6 0 When the final whistle went
the scarfed multitude
slowly and quietly descended
the steep makeshift steps
crossed the bridge
and hurried away.

7 Leave a comment on verse 7 0 The result was a win for Parma
which was hard cheese
for Venezia
who went down.
