Flighty Guy

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 They told me he could almost fly,
If you raced with him he whistled on by.
Outside right upon a football field,
Opponents defended with their eyes well peeled.
They told me they tried everything,
Pushed him inside, showed him down the wing.
He experienced the early reminder,
A welcoming tackle so he knows they are there.
That was only a re-winder,
He would pass even faster taking extra special care.
I knew him with a cheerful smiling face,
He grinned more so when asked about his pace.
‘I found out that you could almost fly’,
‘They tried to out pace but you whistled on by’.
Playing centre forward or any team position,
They said he was quick,
But they didn’t care to listen
I told him I that I’d found out why,
He was a whippet on the wing’
He was Flighty Guy.
