Football Inequality For All

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 The excitement and buzz when we signed them, had us drooling and uber inspired
2 quality players to bolster our side, to the edge of the moon we were wired
What happened next was outrageous, outlandish and quite unintelligible
Deflation it hit, our bubble was burst, both players are now deemed ineligible
The club got to work gathering facts, in order to attain their clearance
There were other EL players in the same boat who had also failed in adherence

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 We waited and waited for news of our lads, the games they came and they went
FIFA cleared some, but nothing came our way, to end our anguished torment
If our club had a motto it’d be Sods Law, Anything that can go wrong, will
Cos we’re sick to the back teeth of swallowing, footballs bitterest pills
Clearance refused was the news we received, our case returned battered and bruised
We were baffled, perplexed and bamboozled, as to why our two lads were refused

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 City fans were then sprung into action, so they started an online petition
Other EL fans when asked to sign up, announced they were all gone a fishin
The rest of the players whose cases were put, have freedom their trades now to ply
And this while their cases were gamely proposed by the world renowned FA of I
Why does it always happen to us, why are we always ill fated?
The rumour the 2 lads would now be let go was hurriedly proliferated

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 We demanded they give us a reason, as we waited and waited back home
When the reason arrived, its form was obscure, an ambiguous multi paged tome!!
When Olan the brief had translated, it made lawyer speak sound dull and grey
It turned out the reason was discord, FIFA versus the English FA
The players had gone on some pithy loan deals that the FA did not recognize
And now that they want to play football, it’s Cork City that gets victimized

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 A young Argentine, Javier, was attracted to Londons East End
Then he states “I don’t like it, I only came here because of my friend”
Another club then want to sign him, contravening this heinous rule
But FIFA then bend over backwards, he’s togging out now for the Pool
So don’t deny our players a living, or a chance to now get on the ball
Teach us the meaning of football, not “Football Inequality For All”

Notes

Colin Healy and Gareth Farrelly were signed by Cork City in the close season after spells in the UK, now because of FIFA’s 3 club rule they are ineligible to play for us til July 1st, this is the same rule that FIFA gladly overlooked when Javier Mascherano wished to play for Liverpool, it looks like one rule for the big clubs and another for the small ones. They are denying these 2 players a chance to earn a living and its unjust.
EL = Eircom League
FIFA = Football Inequality For All
