Football Philosophy

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 You speak of Kant who said
”Man must be disciplined, for he is by nature raw and wild..”
Citing pure reason with deference, but
I tell you of Cantona whose raw passion
Nailed the pitch
“To be is to do”, as footballer makes perfect sense
For human reason cannot harness nor tame
The unequivocal genius
That restless grace, foolish at times, but never the fool
Some talk of cabbages and kings
And others of seagulls and sardines,
Ripping the script, and bending the rule.
