For Whom The Belles Toll

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Doncaster Belles are on the brink…can’t even
Afford to make their next match. 50 miles away
And 60 million gets spent, on two men. It’s not
Right. It’s the same game, the same rules, the
Game we all love. So do something, F.A. Do
Something to stop these obscenely distorted
Situations; transfer fees, wages, ticket prices,
Up, Up, Up. So the grass roots wither, and die.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 On the verge of bankruptcy, months short of
Four decades as a club – up in smoke, not a
Tear shed in the wider media-led world. But it’s
OK to spend grotesque amounts in the name
Of what ? Greed, envy – a collective egotism
Run wild, whilst credit crunched fans struggle
To pay their bills. The money monster is out of
Control; Football – as we knew it – has died. RIP.
