Forever Anfield

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 We’ve seen so many stars shine
Here it’s hard to pick just one
From Shanks to Bob who wait an heir
But where will he come from?
Sir Roger Hunt a feast of goals
The keepers all gave up
St Etienne sent back to France
By the boots of Davie Fairclough

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 King Kenny wore the Anfield crown
There’s been no better head
And Smithy shot with boots of steel
For passion of the reds
The Saint converted crosses
Whilst the pig he learned to fly
Crazy Horse a lion’s heart
And Liverpool his pride

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Souness once we cheered his strength
But he threw away the love
Turned his back on Kopites
When he turned up in The Sun
The dignity of Digger Barnes
Example to us all
Whilst Brucie serves as warnings
If from grace you fall

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Keegan left us long ago
And some they really sobbed
But how can you respect a man
Who thinks you’re on the rob?
Jocky served us glory
Jan Molby served his time
Robbie Fowler served his cards
For stepping out of line

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 There’s a light that’s shines in Liverpool
Where you’ll hear the faithful sing
Where Rushie scored his goals for fun
And where Heighway grew his wings
This place is known as Anfield
And the pilgrims go there still
For on the 7th day God rested
Then on the 8th he gave us Bill!
