Forty Years Of Bert

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 He kept the ball that scored the goal
He cleaned the boots that shone like coal
He marked the pitch with toothpaste lines
He hailed the fans with victory signs
He laid the law behind the scenes
He made them feel what winning means
He was a man that must exist
Bottom rung to Directors list

Notes

Money’s good but it don’t buy time. We need more real fans at boardroom level, not millionaire real fans, just potless but passionate like the rest of us. Only then can they stand a chance of understanding what the game means to us.
