Frank McAvennie

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 In the centenary year of Celtic,
In the year of 1988,
Frank McAvennie took a stroll
Along the infamous Gallowgate,

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Cesar returned from exile
A fire burning in his soul,
Dressed McAvennie in the hoops
And pointed to the direction of the goal.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 When McAvennie scored Celtic’s goals,
Songs could be heard along the Gallowgate,
Celtic’s cross shone high over Glasgow,
For there it has stood, since 1888.
