Full House

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 Throaty roars reverberate
around the ramshackled old ground.
‘Come on you Reds’
and ‘Red Army’ sung lustily
and with gusto by
young and old alike.
Whites’ threat snuffed out
both on and off the pitch.
‘We are Leeds’ mantra
drowned by Swindon chants.
Once a season wonders and
crusty old campaigners
unite to see off Leeds.
Baying continues unabated
after the game
when smiling eyes are
glued to tv screens:
news that City have been blitzed,
hit for six by Cardiff
adds to the feeling
of unbridled joy.
Truly, a night to remember.

Notes

Swindon 3 Leeds 0. Loved it.
