Ghosts of legends

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 We never see the Legend anymore,
Although he is still there,
we know from the echoes that fill Anfield’s still air,
We still feel the presence and oh how he cared.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Every so often,
When watching a match,
The wind will turn direction,
And deny the opposition keeper a catch,
And you get goose-bumps and your hair stands on end,
To absolutely know for a fact we are being looked after,
By the spirit of a friend.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 And the last person out of our boardroom at night,
While closing the door and clicking the light,
He feels the presence just as if he is there,
Sternly opinionated, witty, strict but fair.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 And every match day when the Kop starts to sing,
He is our orchestral conductor as the enemies ears start to sting,
With the intimidating noise of our heavenly choir,
As the virgin ball gets pummelled with our red flaming fire.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 I sincerely believe that he never left,
I have witnessed miracles of football,
We have beaten the best,
And every goal should not have scored,
Got a tap on by Bill Shankly,
He still loves to make the KOP ROAR!!
