God’s Chosen People

1 Leave a comment on verse 1 0 God’s Chosen People, we are not,
Dame Fortune tricked us neatly.
The Israelite just picked his spot
And scuppered us completely.

2 Leave a comment on verse 2 0 Our idols were all made of clay,
False prophets to the nation.
We gnashed our teeth in disarray
And showed great consternation.

3 Leave a comment on verse 3 0 Our journey to the Promised Land
Is merely an illusion.
Our tribe’s beset by troubles and
Unusual confusion.

4 Leave a comment on verse 4 0 Oh Lord, Thou hast forsaken us
And cast us from Thy glory,
Thy mighty plan has shaken us
And spoiled this wondrous story.

5 Leave a comment on verse 5 0 For we are wretched in Thy sight,
With fealty that wavers.
Take pity on our abject plight –
Send Stewie Byrne to save us.
